Water filtering pitcher components:

- transparent plastic pitcher with a total capacity of 2.4 l, filtered water capacity 1.4 l;

Cartridge change indicator

The Aluna Cool water filtering pitcher is equipped with a Calendar type cartridge change indicator on the lid. Easy to see and set, this is a manual indicator; it does not require activation and does not set automatically.
How does it work? Once you start using the new filter cartridge, calculate the date of the next change, and simply set the calendar to that date.

Maxtra+ filter cartridge replacement

For a consumption of 2 l of water per person per day and to obtain optimal results every time, we recommend replacing the MAXTRA+ cartridge every 4 weeks or after every 150 l of filtered water. After the recommended period has expired, remove the lid of the water filtering pitcher, carefully remove the funnel, then, holding the cartridge on either side, pull it up.
The new ergonomic shape of the MAXTRA+ cartridges makes it easy to remove and replace them.

MAXTRA + technology

The pitcher is fitted with the "BRITA MAXTRA+" filter cartridge – an improved version of the original MAXTRA.

The innovative "MicroFlow" filtration technology of the MAXTRA+ cartridges with which BRITA filter pitchers are equipped ensures optimum results every time, their performance being the result of 5 years of research in BRITA's laboratories in Germany. The taste of tea and coffee, whether hot or cold, will be visibly improved once the water used for them has been filtered with MAXTRA+. By using filtered water, limescale will no longer build up on the machines and their life will be prolonged.

MAXTRA+ offers an economical and environmentally friendly alternative to tap water consumption, as the cartridges are 100% recyclable.

Compared to previous BRITA cartridge versions, the MAXTRA+ has a 25% finer and more efficient filter sieve and a 30% larger total filtration surface; tap water will be passed through a larger sieve for initial purification, retaining coarse particles first, and then filtered again through a much finer sieve.

The new formula of the "Micro Carbon" activated carbon particles, smaller and rounder than those previously used, removes organic impurities that affect taste and odour more efficiently and quickly. At the same time, the ion exchange resin reduces levels of limescale and metals such as copper and lead. The performance results of BRITA water filtering pitchers and the impeccable taste of filtered water are mainly due to these particles.

Activated carbon, obtained from coconut shells, now present in an even more compact form than in previous versions of filter cartridges, can filter more water more efficiently. The micro-pores of the carbon particles trap unwanted substances, even fighting off pesticides.

Proof of the effectiveness of MAXTRA+ cartridges?

The entire filtration process as well as the quality of BRITA products are tested both in our own laboratories and by organisations such as the famous TÜV SÜD, which has certified that BRITA products meet European food industry standards.

How does the water purification process actually work?

Simple! Through a relatively quick (in about 1 minute), but by no means superficial process, which seems a piece of cake thanks to the 4 basic components of the MAXTRA+ cartridge

1. The first sieve stops the penetration of impurities;
2. The "Micro Carbon" particles from the coconut remove chlorine and other organic substances that can affect the taste and smell of the drink;
3. Ion exchange resin retains metals and reduces limescale deposition.
4. The water is passed through a finer sieve for a final filtration that retains even the finest unwanted particles.
5. The water is ready to drink!
