Beyond personal preferences, many cooking techniques or recipes require seasoning with freshly ground salt and peppercorns of a certain coarseness. For instance, lighter sauces or raw vegetable mixes may call for a fine coarseness, while roasts or grilled dishes may require a coarser coarseness. Peugeot now offers the ability to quickly, precisely, and easily select from 6 predefined levels of coarseness thanks to the patented u'Select system. By simply turning the ring at the base of the grinder, you can instantly and without any risk achieve the desired coarseness.

In the case of salt and peppercorn grinders equipped with the u'Select system, the same renowned Peugeot mechanisms are present, guaranteed for life. The pepper grinders, for example, use a hard stainless steel grinding mechanism with two rows of spiral-shaped teeth to efficiently guide the peppercorns. The first row, larger in size, is designed to crush the peppercorns, while the second row ensures a perfect grind.

What kind of peppercorns are recommended?

It is recommended to use dried, hard black, white, or green peppercorns with a maximum diameter of about 5 mm. Pink peppercorns can only be used in a blend (up to 15% pink peppercorns) with one of the types of peppercorns mentioned earlier. Dried coriander seeds can also be used in Peugeot pepper grinders.
