When you want good food, prepared very quickly or when circumstances do not allow you an outdoor barbecue, the grill pan or the grill designed for cooker becomes the best friend of a chef. Prepared in a grill pan, the foods acquire a special striped look and an irresistible flavour equivalent ony to food cooked on fire. Although meat is considered the queen of grills, you can also use a grill pan to perfectly brown fish, vegetables, fruit or even pizza and polenta.
When choosing a grill pan, it is advisable to consider the material from which it is made of. A sturdy cast iron pan cooks food quickly and evenly and maintains temperature for a long time. Aluminum frying pans provide a non-stick coating that prevents food from sticking and makes cleaning easier after use. Steel and carbon steel pans have increased strength, while grill plates made of marble are a real treat in any kitchen.
Do not forget to pay attention to the handle of a frying pan as well - a removable handle or one with high thermal resistance can be helpful if you want to cook the steak in the oven after giving it an irresistible striped look.
