Qualities of Emile Henry dishes

Handcrafted from natural clay with care and attention to details, Emile Henry products are guaranteed for up to 10 years.

• Resistance to mechanical shocks: they do not get scratched nor chip easily, allowing the use of sharp utensils in the cookware
• Thermal resistance: they can be transferred straight from the fridge or freezer  into a hot oven. 
• Resistance to high temperatures without any damages: up to 270°C for ovenware products and up to 290°C for BBQ® ceramic products.
• Sleek look, glossy finish: in a variety of colors that do not fade away in time.
• Calculated dimensions as well as shapes specially designed for efficient cooking and for optimizing the taste of food. 

Given to how ceramics is made, by two-stage firing – at 900°C and, then, at 1150°C, the Emile Henry products are suitable not only for all types of cooking, but are also 100% safe for storing food (they do not contain harmful metals), can be easily washed by hand or in the dishwasher and can be successfully used in the microwave.

The excellence of these French products is complemented by their beauty, being painted in entirely distinctive colors: Clay, Flour, Burgundy, Charcoal, Blue Flame, Provence Yellow, Mediterranean Blue, Truffle, Rose Candy, Belle-Ile, Cedre, and Tuscany. These shades are inspired by the raw materials of the products, the manufacturing process, other materials they resemble, or the wine region where the company is located.

Emile Henry has always been dedicated to French craftsmanship. They remain faithful to their historic location in Marcigny, in the heart of Burgundy, and contribute to preserving traditional skills and jobs. Each of their pieces is handmade and signed by one of the craftsmen in the workshops.
