Cheese cutlery set, stainless steel - Opinel

Cutlery set for cheese, made from high-quality stainless steel, produced by Opinel.

The set consists of:

• 1 cheese knife, blade length 12.5 cm;
• 1 fork for cheese, length 14 cm.

The cheese knife is inspired by the traditional OPINEL pocket knife, featuring a beechwood handle and a martensitic stainless steel blade.

The fork, entirely made of stainless steel, can be used for slicing and serving cheese as well as a support for the knife.

Martensitic Stainless Steel
Hardness 55-57 HRC.
The stainless steel used in making Opinel blades is optimized to ensure high resistance to corrosion and high mechanical performance. The blade offers excellent sharpening and high resistance to abrasion (wear), allowing it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before needing re-sharpening. Stainless steel has the advantage of not requiring special maintenance under normal conditions of use, unlike carbon steel. However, it can reach its limits when in prolonged contact with an aggressive environment (acid, saltwater, detergent…).

Knife handle
Beechwood is the most commonly used wood for making Opinel handles. Sourced from France, the beechwood used is hard, easy to work with, and durable. With a uniform appearance, its light colour varies from yellow to pink. It is characterized by the presence of numerous fine dark lines.
