Product description

Gardening knife N°10, stainless steel blade and beechwood handle, Opinel brand.

The gardening knife - called "Billhook" - is a multifunctional tool with curved blade and is very useful for tree pruning, shrub cutting and grape gathering.

Martensitic stainless steel
Hardness 55-57 HRC.
The stainless steel used in the manufacture of OPINEL blades is optimized to guarantee both high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance.
The blade offers excellent sharpness and high resistance to abrasion (wear and tear), which allows it to withstand the usual contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before requiring resharpening. Stainless steel has the advantage of not requiring special maintenance under normal conditions of use, unlike carbon steel. However, stainless steel may reach its limits when put in prolonged contact with an aggressive agent (acid, salt water, detergent...).

The handle
Beechwood is the most commonly material used for the manufacture of the Opinel handles. Sourced from France, the beech wood is hard, easy to work with and durable. With a homogeneous appearance, beech wood's light color varies from yellow to pink, featuring numerous dark fine lines.

Safety ring
Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring has been mounted on all the folding knives starting with the N°06 model. Cut-out of stainless steel, Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. On this knife model, the blade can be locked only in open position.

Blade length: 10 cm.
