Gas detector - Smartwares

The Smartwares gas detector alerts you whenever there is a gas leak. The gas concentration in the air is constantly monitored. If the concentration is too high, the detector sounds a loud 85 dB alarm.

This detector is essential for gas cookers, gas boilers, gas stoves and gas fireplaces. The detector is EN 50194-certified.

Quickly detect a gas leak
Natural gas, butane gas and propane gas are explosive in the right concentration and are therefore life-threatening. If there is a gas leak, it is only natural that you want to be alerted in good time so that you can act quickly. In your home, gas can leak, for example, from the central heating system, the water heater or the gas cooker.

24/7 protection
This gas detector measures and sounds an alarm for 3 different gases: methane, butane and propane and is mains-powered. The sensor has a lifespan of 5 years and provides 24-hour protection. The test button can be used to check monthly whether the gas detector is working properly.

Easy mounting
The positioning of a gas detector is important because natural gas rises to the surface, while butane and propane remain low, at ground level. To detect natural gas, position the gas detector no more than 30 cm below the ceiling and no more than 8 meters from the heat source. To detect butane or propane, we recommend installing the gas detector no more than 30 cm above the floor, approximately 2-3 meters from the heat source. We recommend that you do not connect the gas detector to a socket with a switch, to prevent it from being switched off accidentally.

Maintenance and testing
It is important that the green LED is always lit, as this indicates that the detector is working properly. The performance of a gas detector can be impaired by dust and dirt. It is therefore important to clean the detector monthly with a slightly damp cloth and every six months with a vacuum cleaner. However, never use cleaning products or paint the detector. It is also recommended that you test the detector monthly to ensure that it is working properly.
