N°08 pocket knife "Tradition Luxe", with stainless steel blade and length of 8.5 cm, produced by Opinel.

It offers excellent cutting quality and the safety ring allows the user to use it safely.

Martensitic stainless steel
Hardness 55-57 HRC.
The stainless steel used to manufacture OPINEL knife blades is optimized to guarantee both high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance.
The knife blade offers excellent sharpness and high abrasion (wear) resistance, allowing it to withstand the usual contact with hard materials such as ceramics before requiring resharpening. Stainless steel has the advantage of not requiring special maintenance under normal use, unlike carbon steel. However, it can reach its limits when put in prolonged contact with an aggressive environment (acid, salt water, detergent...).

Stainless steel hardness: 55-57 HRC.

The handle
This walnut wood from the French forests is yellowish brown or greyish brown. It often has dark wood veins.

Safety ring
Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted on all foldable knives from the N°06 model
onwards. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade when it is closed (safety during transport).
