The holder acts as a strong and stable magnetic base that keeps the knife at a specific angle. Each of its four sides provides a different sharpening angle:

• 15° – the correct angle for all Rockingham Forge knives
• 18° – suitable for other Japanese knives, especially Santoku knives
• 20° – suitable for most European-style kitchen knives
• 25° – can be used for Chinese cleavers, butcher cleavers, and hunting knives

The rolling sharpener is equipped with 4 interchangeable grinding discs: coarse diamond (360 grit), medium diamond (600 grit), corundum sharpening stone (1000 grit), and ceramic (3000 grit).

The discs can be easily changed and can be used without adding water, ensuring fast and convenient sharpening.

The diamond discs are industrial grade, capable of sharpening all types of hard steel and are suitable for very dull or damaged blades.
The 1000-grit sharpening disc is the most useful for daily sharpening and maintenance, while the 3000-grit ceramic disc is ideal for finishing and refining the blade to an ultra-fine edge.
