"Style" filtering jug for water, BRITA brand and consisting of: 

- transparent plastic carafe, total capacity of 2.4 l, filtered water capacity of 1.4 l;
- special filter funnel, made of BPA-free plastic (Bisphenol A);
- filter cartridge, MAXTRA + type with which you can filter water for 4 weeks or up to 150 l;
- plastic cover, with LED type indicator for changing the filter cartridge.

Why BRITA filter jugs?

These innovative filter jugs are a practical, convenient, and environmentally friendly way to keep you permanently hydrated without having to constantly carry classic bottles of bottled water. Unlike non-environmentally friendly plastic bottles and are difficult to degrade, BRITA jugs are used for a long time, requiring only a simple replacement of the filter cartridges.

The carafe and funnel can be washed in the dishwasher except for the cover which will be cleaned manually.

Cartridge change indicator

The Style Cool filter jug is provided with a warning system for changing the LED cartridge, placed on the cover. This system is unique among BRITA jugs, only the new Style models being provided with it. Named "Smart Light", this system monitors the remaining service life of the MAXTRA+ cartridge and alerts the consumer by changing the color from green to yellow and red.

To activate the monitoring system, press and hold the LED button for about 5 seconds, during which the green LED will light alternately 3 times. Each time the Style filter jug is used, the green light will turn on; When the green light is replaced with the yellow one during use, you will know that it is time to replace the MAXTRA+ filter cartridge.

If the warning light turns red, the cartridge's filtering capacity has expired completely (the recommended water amount has already been filtered). 

MAXTRA+ filter cartridge replacement

For a consumption of 2 l of water per day per person and to obtain optimal results every time, we recommend replacing the MAXTRA+ cartridge every 4 weeks or when 150 l of water were filtered. After the recommended time has elapsed, remove the filter jug lid, carefully remove the funnel and then holding firmly the cartridge, pull it out.  
The new ergonomic shape of MAXTRA+ cartridges allows them to be easily removed and replaced.

Compared to previous versions of BRITA cartridges, MAXTRA+ is provided with a 25% finer and more efficient filter screen and a 30% larger total filter surface; tap water will be passed through a larger sieve in the first stage for the first purification, first retaining the coarse particles, and at the end it will be filtered again, passing through a much finer sieve.

The new formula of "Micro Carbon" activated carbon particles, smaller and rounder than those used before, more efficiently and faster removes organic impurities that impair taste and odour. At the same time, ion exchange resin reduces the level of limescale and metals such as copper and lead. The high-performance results of BRITA jugs and the impeccable taste of the filtered water are mainly due to these particles.

Activated carbon, obtained from coconut shell, now being even more compact than in previous versions of filter cartridges can filter a larger water amount more efficiently. Micro-pores of carbon particles collect the unwanted substances, even pesticides.

Proof of MAXTRA+ cartridge efficiency?

The entire filtration process and the quality of BRITA products are tested both in their own laboratories and by organizations such as the famous TÜV SÜD, which has certified that BRITA products comply with European standards in the food industry.

The use of MAXTRA+ cartridges is recommended even by the British Tea Academy, as it is proven that the flavour of tea and coffee prepared with water filtered with MAXTRA+ is intensified.

How is water purification process actually carried out?

Simple! Through a relatively fast process (in about 1 minute), but not at all superficial, which is an easy task thanks to the 4 basic components of the MAXTRA+ cartridge.

1. The first sieve prevents impurities from entering in the filter; 
2.  "Micro Carbon" particles from coconut remove chlorine and other organic substances that can impair the taste and odour of drink;
3. Ion exchange resin retains metals and reduces limescale built up. 
4. Water is passed, for the final filtration, through a finer sieve that retains even the finest unwanted particles.
5. Water is ready to be consumed!
