Product description

Water filtering jug "Style Eco", produced by BRITA, composed of:

- transparent plastic container, total capacity 2.4 l, filtered water capacity 1.4 l;
- special funnel for the filter, made of BPA-free plastic (no Bisfenol A);
- MAXTRA PRO filter cartridge, which can filter approximately 150 l of tap water;
- plastic cap, with LED indicator for changing the filter cartridge.

The Style Eco filter jug is based on 60% bio-plastic material, from which the jug, funnel, cap, and filling cap have been designed.
In the case of Style Eco filter jugs, what is called tall oil has been used, a by-product of wood processing.

Why BRITA filter jugs?

These innovative filter jugs are a practical, convenient, and eco-friendly method to keep yourself hydrated without constantly carrying classic bottled water. Unlike plastic bottles that are not environmentally friendly and are difficult to degrade, BRITA jugs are used for the long term, requiring only the simple replacement of filter cartridges.

With them, you can enjoy the authentic taste of water, which, once filtered, will be much clearer and impurities will be reduced.

Thanks to their size and compact shape, the Style Eco filter jug is perfect for storing on the refrigerator shelf, and thanks to its elegant design, it will look impeccable when placed on the table.

The jug and funnel can be washed in the dishwasher, except for the cap, which should be cleaned manually.

Indicator for changing the cartridge

The Style Eco filter jug is equipped with a warning system for changing the LED-type cartridge, positioned on the cap. This system is unique among BRITA jugs, being provided only with the Style Eco range. Called "Smart Light", this system monitors the remaining life of the MAXTRA PRO cartridge and alerts the consumer by changing the colour from green to yellow and then to red.

To activate the monitoring system, press and hold the LED button for approximately 5 seconds, during which the green LED will light up alternately 3 times. Each time the Style Eco filter jug is used, the green light will come on; when the green light is replaced by yellow during use, you will know it is time to replace the MAXTRA PRO filter cartridge.

If the warning light turns red, the filtering capacity of the cartridge has expired entirely (it has already filtered the recommended amount of water).

Replacing the MAXTRA PRO filter cartridge

For a consumption of 2 l of water per day per person and for optimal results every time, we recommend replacing the MAXTRA PRO cartridge every 4 weeks or at 150 l of filtered water. After the recommended period has expired, detach the cap of the filter jug, carefully remove the funnel, then, holding the cartridge on both sides, pull it upwards.
The new ergonomic shape of the MAXTRA PRO cartridges allows for easy removal and replacement.

MAXTRA PRO technology

The jug is equipped with a BRITA MAXTRA PRO filter cartridge, an improved version of the original MAXTRA + version.
The innovative "MicroFlow" filtering technology of the MAXTRA PRO cartridges with which the BRITA filter jugs are equipped ensures optimal results every time, their performance being the result of 5 years of research in BRITA laboratories in Germany. The taste of tea and coffee, whether hot or cold, will be visibly improved once the water used for them has been filtered with MAXTRA PRO. By using filtered water, limescale will not build up on appliances, extending their life.

MAXTRA PRO offers an economical and environmentally friendly alternative to tap water consumption, as the cartridges are 100% recyclable.

Compared to previous versions of BRITA cartridges, MAXTRA PRO has a final filtering sieve that is 4 times more efficient than the MAXTRA PRO filter; tap water will pass through a larger sieve in the first phase for initial purification, first retaining coarse particles, and then will be filtered again, passing through a much finer sieve.

The formula of the active carbon particles "Micro Carbon" removes organic impurities that affect the taste and smell efficiently and more quickly. At the same time, the ion exchange resin reduces the level of limescale and metals such as copper and lead. The excellent results of BRITA jugs and the impeccable taste of filtered water are mainly due to these particles.

Activated carbon, obtained from coconut shells, in a compact form, can filter a larger amount of water more efficiently. The micro-pores of the carbon particles capture unwanted substances, even fighting against pesticides.

Proof of the efficiency of MAXTRA PRO cartridges?

The entire filtration process, as well as the quality of BRITA products, are tested both in their own laboratories and by organizations such as the famous TÜV SÜD, which has certified that BRITA products comply with European standards in the food industry.

How does the water purification process actually work?

Simply! Through a relatively rapid but by no means superficial process, with the help of the 4 basic components of the MAXTRA PRO cartridge.

1. The first sieve stops the entry of coarse particles;
2. Micro carbon granules derived from coconut shells reduce chlorine and other organic substances that can affect the taste and smell of the drink;
3. The ion exchange resin retains metals and reduces limescale deposits.
4. For a final filtering, water passes through a final sieve that retains even the finest unwanted particles, being 4 times more efficient than MAXTRA +.
5. The water is ready to be drank!

Sustainability and certification

By using bio-plastic, carbon footprint and conventional plastic consumption are significantly reduced.
Whenever we talk about bio-based plastic when it comes to BRITA products, you will find a percentage, as well as a reference to the so-called mass balance approach. You will be able to see exactly how much bio-based plastic is in a product - a concept that is also used in the ecological electricity market, for example.

The mass balance approach is an accounting method in which (in the case of BRITA) bio-based materials are mixed with fossil materials during the production process and then allocated to the final product.
BRITA respects the specifications of the internationally recognized ISCC label - a certification standard that tracks bio-based material throughout the entire production process.

*BRITA filters are designed to be used only for filtering tap water (note: if the water is regularly checked and declared potable) or for filtering water from private suppliers that has been declared potable.
