There is a difference between sharpening and honing
The Tormek T-1 kitchen knife sharpener is developed using the same method as the knife sharpening system for commercial kitchens, based on the Tormek T-2 Pro kitchen knife sharpener, which has been adapted and approved for home use.
With the Tormek T-1 kitchen knife sharpener, you can quickly and easily sharpen the entire blade of your knife to the exact angle you have set with the patented guide. On the honing wheel, you remove the burr while simultaneously polishing the edge to razor sharpness. The low rotation speed of the fine-grit diamond grinding wheel allows only a minimal amount of steel to be removed. It also keeps the temperature low to prevent the blade from losing its properties, so your knives stay sharp for longer.
Sharpens all kitchen knives
With its innovative design and high-quality materials, the Tormek T-1 kitchen knife sharpener can sharpen most types of kitchen knives. The patented guide can accommodate knives with blades 12-60 mm high, up to 5 mm thick and of any length. Choose between 8-22 degrees on each side of the knife.
The fine-grit diamond grinding wheel sharpens all types of steel to a professional level of sharpness and can also sharpen ceramic knives. Since you sharpen the knife bevels separately, you have the option of setting different edge angles on each side of the knife or sharpening only one side. This allows you to sharpen even more advanced knives. Between sharpenings, you can easily maintain the edge simply by using the honing wheel. When you no longer achieve the same level of sharpness, return to the diamond grinding wheel.
Home cooks deserve professional sharpness too
Tormek has been developing sharpening machines for professional kitchens for many years. The highly regarded Tormek T-2 Pro kitchen knife sharpener is used by the Swedish Culinary Team and by several Michelin-starred restaurants. Drawing on this experience, Tormek has now developed the first true knife sharpener for the home cook.
The Tormek T-1 kitchen knife sharpener has an elegant, subtly industrial design that gives it a well-deserved place in the modern kitchen. Whether you cook in a restaurant or at home, in your own kitchen, the most important tool for a chef is not a knife, but a knife sharpener.
Quality and care
The Tormek T-1 kitchen knife sharpener is designed for everyone who cares about quality and wants to take care of their kitchen equipment. With minimal steel removal, the lifespan of your knives will be extended. It will always be a pleasure to use extremely sharp knives in the kitchen.
