Water filtering jug "Style Eco", produced by BRITA, consisting of:
- transparent plastic container, total capacity 2.4 L, filtered water capacity 1.4 L;
- special filter funnel, made of BPA-free plastic (Bisphenol A);
- filter cartridge, type MAXTRA PRO, capable of filtering approximately 150 L of tap water*;
- plastic lid with LED indicator for cartridge replacement.
Style Eco Filter Jug is made from 60% bio-based plastic, used for the jug, funnel, lid, and filling lid.
For Style Eco filter jugs, tall oil, a by-product of wood processing, has been used.

The jug and funnel are dishwasher safe, except for the lid, which should be cleaned by hand.
Cartridge replacement indicator
The Style Eco filter jug is equipped with an LED-type cartridge change alert system, located on the lid. This system is unique among BRITA jugs, being available only in the Style Eco range. Called "Smart Light", this system monitors the remaining lifespan of the MAXTRA PRO cartridge and alerts the user by changing color from green to yellow and then to red.
To activate the monitoring system, press and hold the LED button for approximately 5 seconds, during which the green LED will flash 3 times. Each time the Style Eco filter jug is used, the green light will turn on; when the green light is replaced by yellow during use, you will know it is time to replace the MAXTRA PRO filter cartridge.
If the warning light turns red, the cartridge’s filtering capacity has been completely exhausted (the recommended amount of water has already been filtered).
Replacing the MAXTRA PRO filter cartridge
For a daily consumption of 2 L of water per person and to obtain optimal results each time, we recommend replacing the MAXTRA PRO cartridge every 4 weeks or after 150 L of filtered water. After the recommended period expires, remove the jug lid, carefully take out the funnel, then grasp the cartridge on both sides and pull it upwards.
The new ergonomic design of the MAXTRA PRO cartridges makes removal and replacement easy.
MAXTRA PRO Technology
The jug is equipped with a BRITA MAXTRA PRO filter cartridge, an improved version of the original MAXTRA+.
The innovative "MicroFlow" filtration technology of the MAXTRA PRO cartridges used in BRITA filter jugs ensures optimal results every time, with their performance being the result of 5 years of research in BRITA's German laboratories. The taste of tea and coffee, whether hot or cold, will be noticeably improved once the water used has been filtered with MAXTRA PRO. Using filtered water prevents limescale buildup on appliances, thus extending their lifespan.
MAXTRA PRO offers an economical and environmentally friendly alternative to consuming tap water, as the cartridges are 100% recyclable.
Compared to previous versions of BRITA cartridges, the MAXTRA PRO has a final filter mesh that is 4 times more efficient than MAXTRA PRO’s earlier mesh; tap water first passes through a larger mesh for initial purification, retaining coarse particles, and is then filtered again through a much finer mesh.
The "Micro Carbon" active carbon particle formula efficiently and more quickly removes organic impurities that affect taste and odor. At the same time, ion-exchange resin reduces limescale and metals such as copper and lead. The high performance of BRITA jugs and the impeccable taste of filtered water are mainly due to these particles.
The active carbon, obtained from coconut shells and present in a compact form, can filter a larger amount of water more effectively. The micropores of the carbon particles capture unwanted substances, even helping combat pesticides.
Proof of MAXTRA PRO cartridge efficiency?
The entire filtration process, as well as the quality of BRITA products, are tested both in-house and by organizations such as the renowned TÜV SÜD, which has certified that BRITA products comply with European food industry standards.
How exactly does the water purification process work?
Simple! Through a relatively fast but thorough process, with the help of the 4 basic components of the MAXTRA PRO cartridge.
1. The first mesh prevents coarse particles from entering;
2. Micro carbon granules made from coconut shells reduce chlorine and other organic substances that can affect the taste and smell of the drink;
3. Ion-exchange resin retains metals and reduces limescale deposits.
4. For final filtration, the water passes through a final mesh that retains even the finest unwanted particles, being 4 times more efficient compared to MAXTRA+.
5. The water is ready to drink!
Sustainability and certification
By using bio-based plastic, the carbon footprint and consumption of conventional plastic are significantly reduced.
Whenever we talk about bio-based plastic in BRITA products, you will find a percentage figure as well as a reference to the so-called mass balance approach. You will be able to see exactly how much bio-based plastic is in a product – a concept also used in the green electricity market, for example.
The mass balance approach is an accounting method in which (in the case of BRITA) bio-based materials are mixed with fossil-based materials during production and then allocated to the final product.
BRITA complies with the internationally recognized ISCC label specifications – a certification standard that tracks bio-based material throughout the entire production process.
