- transparent plastic container, total capacity 3.6 L, filtered water capacity 2.3 L;
- special filter funnel, made of BPA-free plastic (Bisphenol A);

Cartridge replacement indicator

The Style Essential filter jug is equipped with an LED cartridge replacement alert system located on the lid. This system is unique among BRITA jugs and is available only in the Style range. Called "Smart Light", this system monitors the remaining lifespan of the MAXTRA PRO cartridge and notifies the user by changing the light color from green to yellow and then to red.

To activate the monitoring system, press and hold the LED button for approximately 5 seconds, during which the green light will flash alternately 3 times. Each time the Style Essential filter jug is used, the green light will turn on; when the green light is replaced by yellow during use, you will know it is time to replace the MAXTRA PRO filter cartridge.

If the warning light turns red, the cartridge’s filtration capacity has been completely exhausted (the recommended amount of water has already been filtered).

Replacing the MAXTRA PRO filter cartridge

For a consumption of 2 L of water per person per day and to achieve optimal results every time, we recommend replacing the MAXTRA PRO cartridge every 4 weeks or after 150 L of filtered water. After the recommended period expires, remove the jug lid, carefully take out the funnel, then grip the cartridge on both sides and pull it upward.
The new ergonomic shape of the MAXTRA PRO cartridges allows easy removal and replacement.

The jug is equipped with a BRITA MAXTRA PRO filter cartridge, an improved version of the original MAXTRA+.
The innovative "MicroFlow" filtration technology of the MAXTRA PRO cartridges used in BRITA filter jugs ensures optimal results every time, with performance resulting from 5 years of research in BRITA laboratories in Germany. The taste of tea and coffee, whether hot or cold, will be noticeably improved once the water used is filtered with MAXTRA PRO. MAXTRA PRO offers a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative for tap water consumption, as the cartridges are 100% recyclable.

Compared to previous versions of BRITA cartridges, MAXTRA PRO features a final filtration mesh that is 4 times more efficient compared to the MAXTRA+ filter. Tap water first passes through a super-fine mesh for initial purification, retaining coarse particles from old pipes, and is finally filtered again through an additional high-performance filtration mesh.

The "Micro Carbon" activated carbon particle formula effectively and more quickly removes organic impurities that affect taste and odor. At the same time, the ion-exchange resin reduces limescale levels and metals such as copper and lead. The outstanding performance of BRITA jugs and the impeccable taste of filtered water are mainly due to these particles.

The activated carbon, obtained from coconut shells and presented in a compact form, can filter a larger amount of water more efficiently. The micro-pores of the carbon particles capture unwanted substances, even effectively combating pesticides.

Proof of MAXTRA PRO cartridge efficiency?

The entire filtration process, as well as the quality of BRITA products, are tested both in-house and by organizations such as the renowned TÜV SÜD, which has certified that BRITA products comply with European food industry standards.

How does the water purification process actually work?
