BRITA Flow XXL 8,2 L Maxtra PRO (blue) filter container

"Flow" water filter container, BRITA brand, consisting of: 

- transparent plastic container, total capacity 8.2 l, filtered water capacity 5.2 l;
- special filter funnel, made of BPA-free plastic (Bisphenol A);
- 1 filter cartridge, MAXTRA PRO type with which you can filter about 150 l of tap water;
- plastic cover, with Memo type indicator for changing the filter cartridge.

This container is equipped with a tap for accurate and effortless water pouring. Its design was conceived to fit in the refrigerator (measuring 22 x 21 x 31 cm) and can be easily disassembled for cleaning.

Why BRITA filtering products?

These innovative filter containers a practical, convenient and environmentally friendly way to keep you permanently hydrated without having to constantly carry classic bottles of bottled water. Unlike non-environmentally friendly plastic bottles and that are difficult to degrade, BRITA containers are used for a long time, requiring only a simple replacement of the filter cartridges.

Cartridge change indicator

The Flow filter container is provided with a warning system for changing the Memo type cartridge, placed on the cover. This indicator easy to watch and set is an AUTOMATIC one. 
How does it work? The indicator monitors water filtration process and displays the remaining operating time of the MAXTRA PRO cartridge. After inserting the MAXTRA PRO cartridge, press and hold the START button for a few seconds, until the 4 lines are displayed on the screen and will flash alternately twice. Each line represents one of the four weeks in which the MAXTRA PRO cartridge can be used with maximum performance. During the use of the MAXTRA PRO filter cartridge every week, one line will disappear from the display, indicating the remaining service life.

MAXTRA PRO filtering cartridge replacement

For a consumption of 2 l of water per person per day and to obtain optimal results every time, we recommend replacing the MAXTRA PRO cartridge every 4 weeks or 150 l of filtered water. After the recommended time has expired, remove the filtering container lid, carefully remove the funnel, then, holding firmly the cartridge on either side, pull it up.
The new ergonomic shape of the MAXTRA PRO cartridges allows easy removal and replacement.

MAXTRA PRO technology

This container is fitted with the BRITA MAXTRA PRO filter cartridge, an improved version of the original MAXTRA+ version.
The innovative "MicroFlow" filtration technology of MAXTRA PRO cartridges with which BRITA filtering containers are provided, always ensures optimal results, their performance being the result of 5 years of research in BRITA laboratories in Germany. The taste of tea and coffee, whether hot or cold, will be visibly improved once the water used for them has been filtered with MAXTRA PRO. Using filtered water, limescale will no longer build up on the appliances and their service life will be prolonged.

MAXTRA PRO provides an economical alternative and not at all harmful for environment, to tap water consumption, the cartridges being 100% recyclable.

Compared to previous versions of BRITA cartridges, MAXTRA PRO has a 4 times more efficient final filter sieve compared to the MAXTRA+ filter. The tap water will first be passed through a larger sieve for initial purification, first retaining coarse particles and then filtered again through a much finer sieve.

The formula of "Micro Carbon" activated carbon particles removes more efficiently and faster, the organic impurities that impair water taste and odor. At the same time, the ion exchange resin reduces levels of limescale and metals such as copper and lead. The viable results of BRITA water filter cartridges and the impeccable taste of filtered water are mainly due to these particles.

Activated carbon, obtained from coconut shells, now present in an even more compact form than previous versions of filter cartridges, can filter more water more efficiently. The micro-pores of the carbon particles trap unwanted substances, even fighting off pesticides.

*BRITA filters were designed to be used only for filtering tap water (note: if water is checked regularly and has been declared drinkable) or for filtering water that comes from private suppliers and has been declared drinkable.

Proof of MAXTRA PRO cartridge efficiency?

The entire filtration process, as well as the quality of BRITA products are tested both in their own laboratories and by organizations such as the famous TÜV SÜD, which has certified that BRITA products comply with European standards in the food industry.

How is water purification process actually carried out?

Simple! Through a relatively fast process, but not at all superficial, using the 4 basic components of the MAXTRA PRO cartridge.

1. The first sieve prevents impurities from entering in the filter; 
2.  "Micro Carbon" particles from coconut remove chlorine and other organic substances that can impair the taste and odor of drink;
3. Ion exchange resin retains metals and reduces limescale deposits. 
4. Water is passed, for the final filtration, through a final sieve that retains even the finest unwanted particles, being 4 times more efficient than MAXTRA+.
5. Water is ready to be consumed!
